I have a quick question about running 120 to a USB camera in my office.

I have an older security cam that i'm replacing, that current cam is powered by a direct wire for power. The new cam is USB so I'm looking to cut that power and use it from the new USB cam.

I've read that these will work for what I want to do but I want an experts advise so I don't burn down my office. If this will not work what will?

Thanks for any help and advise.

They have these or similar at Lowes. I believe it is what you want. Just stick it in an outlet box near the camera.
