I haven't worn one for the better part of 10 years. I used to work on sensitive electronics and I work on moving mechanical parts. I don't know if you've ever seen a degloved or fried finger before but I'll pass on that being a part of my story. My wife knows I love her and there are bigger problems if a ring is what drives trust in a relationship.

I can understand your predicament though from a sentimental point of view. Sad to lose a part of something you've had for so long that carries that kind of meaning.

My first ring from my wacko wedding is in the Swamp-at Robins AFB. I remarried 23 years ago, only time it leaves my hand was on my dog tags or to wear a silicone one when they came out.

Lost mine after the first couple of years of marriage. I feel terrible about it. Now I wear a $5 stainless steel ring I picked up in Dahlonega years ago. I've had the silicone rings but over time they wear away and get a lot smaller.
