I've seen this and a opened face spinning reel up side down on a closed face rod......Weird, but they made it work......

My wife fished like this. Always drove me nuts but she inevitably caught more fish than I did. I blamed it on her Native American heritage and not my failure as a fisherman.

Nah man, it's a female thing. Haven't you ever noticed they do better fishing and hunting as it seems. Now that said, we set them up and cater to them. Then they out fish us. You put them in the stand, and lo and behold. That big buck you've been hunting for years, well just shows right up under the stand.....LOL, whatcha goin to do.....
