My FIL died last year and we are finally getting around to selling some of his vehicles. I’ve been working on his pickup and the AC isn’t blowing cold. I’m going to include a video below. Now this short video may not help but is the compressor shot or is it a more simple fix?? Let me know fellas!! Y’all have never failed me!!

Compressor is cycling. Air gap could be off if charge is reading ok. Did you have ac on high with windows open?
Yes, so the gauge was jumping to red and back to empty as the compressor was cycling. I’ve never used one of these DIY recharge bottles. I found a video where the same thing was happening and he just let it ride and it ended up reading right.

Looks to be low on Freon. Have you tried to add any? It should start cycling for longer periods of time once you add Freon, then the gauges will calm down.
I started to and freaked out when the gauge went into the red. I’ll add some more tomorrow and see if the gauge calms down.
