1989 Chevrolet S-10 2.8l engine

Good evening fellow members. I am searching for a 2.8l engine for an '89 s-10. I will even look at just a bare block as that's what I really need. Current block has a crack in it and leaking water into oil. Last month's cold weather done it in fully as it has just under 340,000 miles and yes it is the original engine for the truck. Any help or leads would be appreciated.

Will the front wheel drive variants work?

Lots of GM cars out there with these engines.

Trust me both of those ideas have crossed my mind . I actually had one back 20+ years ago. Really miss that one. Lost it in a wreck and beat me up in the process.
