Mine came loose on my CMP 1911. I could probably have replaced myself but I wanted to keep it as original as possible so I took it to the gunsmith and he was able to reseat the original.Got it back together. Got the plunger tube staking tool, but the old plunger tube was shot. Ordered a new one from Brownells. Once I had everything here, it wasn't a problem. I do enjoy learning a new skill. Just have to be patient.
Plunger tube was loose. Didn't engage the safety at the store. Should have. That's on me.

I've detail stripped a 1911 YEARS ago. Never messed with the plunger tube before.

I restaked the original tube. Gave it tug and it came loose again. Just put a new Ed Brown tube on it. I'm almost 62 and learned a new skill.Mine came loose on my CMP 1911.
