Looks like yours was glued in place. The ones I have screw in place, then have a white pop in Ruger emblem that covers the screw…
Yes mine was glued there’s nothing to screw it to, just a hole. I guess yours are for wood stocks. Btw no luck on eBay

1970 & 1971 all metal glory.
Check out that walnut on the 1970 (L). They don't make them this beautiful today. I do not think these have ever had scopes. Receiver screws still installed and spotless on the top. A little cleanup required but they are beautiful specimens.
I always say I'm going to buy as trading fodder but that never works out the way I intended. LOL
