    If you are talking about the gun in question then I can certainly agree with that statement. I thought it would shoot. My bad. What I want to know is why you mods tolerated the seller bringing the issue into the open unless you want to neg the seller? I can cut and paste some of our discussions...

    Well everybody knows that lol. I mean, I get it. **** happens. I have sold some guns that I never got around to firing. But if I had worked on the internals of a gun and it wasn’t going bang reliably…I’m gonna tell you that.

    Guy had been doing some “build” work on the gun. He obviously had no business inside a Browning HP lol. I’ll get it to run…but no way it ran “50 flawless rounds” after the modifications. The hammer strike is way too light for that to be true. Funny thing is seller now acts like I’m the dumbass...

    Are you talking about the buyer who expected the gun to shoot or the seller who obviously had no business changing internal parts because his level of knowledge was subpar?

    Browning HP. And no I have not done anything yet…haven’t had time. Grandkids keeping me busy. I’ll clean it up, load up some mags with different ammo and check it out soon. I just got pissed when I loaded the first mag, stepped on the back porch intending to scare away a stray dog and it went...

    Well, unless loading a magazine with Remington factory 9mm JHP’s can “break” a Browning HP then no, I didn’t break it lol.

    It’s not the magazine, it feeds fine. When it fires…20% of the time lol. It’s a hammer spring issue most likely. I just wish I knew about the issue before I took it home. I have never given in a negative…that I recall anyway. This made me consider one…

    Yep. You nailed it. My mistake was assuming someone knew what they doing…or at least wouldn’t sell the gun if it was not in current working order.

    First time for everything I guess. Never happened before in 12 years of trading so I guess sooner or later it’s bound to happen. Was it Festus on Gunsmoke who said “I ain’t sayin it’s right or it’s wrong…I’m just sayin it sticks in my craw, that’s all!”.

    Exactly. This place is caveat emptor. No different than Armslist or hell…. Facebook marketplace, Craig’s list! Remember to meet at the range and test fire before buying any guns on the ODT. Cause if you take it home and it don’t shoot you are **** out of luck.
