Bought one like it at Service Merchandise back in the late 70's. Saved my allowance for over a month, believe it was $16 or so then. Dad helped me with the last few dollars, sales tax shocked me as I recall.
My ex wife does not use a cutting board, she cuts on the granite countertops. Well, cuts is a misnomer, the knives are so dull she has to saw things.
My kids are old enough to know what is what now, and openly scoff her dull knives. Son won't sharpen them for her anymore.
I am no fan of steel wool anymore, all made in china, and the coating on it seems to cause even more rust. Tends to leave fibers behind too. I no longer use it at all on refinishing wood stocks.
The BK 2 is awesome, I watched a dude cut the motor out of the deck of a lawnmower with it!
It fits the hand great, well balanced, and an awesome sheath comes with it, can be worn either side, friction retain, and an additional safety clasp around the handle.
