So, I bought this knife from a relative and did some more research into it. I am not a knife expert nor a knife appraiser to be fair.

For clarity, maybe missing in pictures, the knife says "U.S.N" "Mark 2" "Commelius NY" where blade meets the handle in picture 2.

Wanted to see what ya'll knew about this knife and what comments you had about it, such as value, history, use, etc.

Attached are pictures.

Thanks for that help

What is the maker's label on the blade ..can't read anything before NY due to glare.
It is a WWII/Korea era US Navy issue fighting knife, the knife is same as a USMC issue except the navy issued with the the hard sheath.

All I know is that it was a "survival or battle knife" with United States Navy manufactured by Commelius Cutlery. . .Seen a lot of them online, but nothing quite like this one. . . I am sure a Guru on here will have some good input...

I believe it's WWII fighting knife similar to KBar knife. It was made about 1944 . Blade looks to have a blood grove and the handle is all leather spacers. Looks in good condition. Value is want someone would pay but probably 75-150. Leather may have been replaced with newer.

Couldn't tell if they were leather or wood because they are hard and somewhat fossilized ...surprisingly.

Great input for me.
Tremendous help.

Thanks!
