Who's ready for some SEC football??

Since some here don't like the APR report I posted, let me try again. The reason I posted it in the first place was because of some critical comments about academic standards and performance. So, for those that didn't like the APR, I would point out that The University of Alabama has consistently been ranked among the nation's top 50 public universities by U.S. News & World Report http://www.ua.edu/features/usnews.html for the last several years. With seven USA Today Academic All-Americans this year, http://www.ua.edu/features/allusa.html Alabama's six-year total of 31 tops all other colleges and universities. Now lets get back to talking smack about football. Roll Tide!

If somebody is ripping on 'Bama that's fine, where did they go? ;)
But.... to "keep it real".....
Florida at #17 overall is #1 in the SEC. They are followed by UGA and A&M and then Bama at #32 overall is 4th in the SEC. (LSU at #67 overall and 7th in the SEC sucks. I grade them on a curve considering they didn't eliminate open admissions until relatively recently. Another failed social experiment...) And finally, their ranking has Cal Berkely as the #1 public university in the nation. As someone who knows several Berkeley grads... well..... I'm just saying.... :)

Once again we both strongly support our Universities and I am all in favor of keeping it real.
#17 Florida
#21 UGA
#23 Texas A&M
#32 Alabama
#37 Auburn
#46 Tennessee

I am happy with how Alabama stacks up against other SEC schools and overall nationally. There is room for improvement, but for a State University from a small poor state from the South, Alabama is not doing badly.

Alabama is not doing badly.
No, they are not.
I suspect from an academic standpoint they are like most if not all SEC schools and larger public universities at large across the country. You can get a very fine education there if you want. You can also get a meaningless piece of paper if that is your goal.
