Wonder if the action screw was loose ? Always check screws for proper spec before an outing especially in centerfire I say.

I would guess that would have been the case. Loose action screws and a high recoiling rifle could result in broken recoil lug ??

If the recoil lug isn’t resting all the way down in the the chassis properly then the action screws would be taking all the recoil and sear off or if the action screw is lose causing the lug to come out of its pocket then putting recoil on the screws they’d sear off as well.

The two pins on the lug aren’t helping, one pin at the bottom to index it is all you need

Update.. Ordering Lug from Defiance..
Trying to get it shipped next day air. Cross my fingers it can get to MPA tomorrow morning!! We will see .
