Some years ago we used to take care of my grandmother that had Alzheimer’s and as she got worse and worse, she still knew and could connect with the old worship or gospel songs, especially Beulah land. Even when she was all but completely gone mentally, we could play that song and she would just light up and start singing and humming along. The devil may can take your mind, but he can’t take your spirit.
Also, it’s just a good song that somehow gives me a longing feeling towards heaven.
