Pretty good dystopian future movie on Netflix.
The world is dramatically overpopulated. Genetically modified crops that solved food shortages have the unintended consequence of enhancing fertility, causing pregnancies to produce more than one offspring. The government institutes a one child law. An underground network protects newborn siblings from the government. The story centers around one family of seven girls, born identical. Their mother dies during childbirth. Their maternal grandfather raises them in secret, teaching them to share one public identity. Only one of them can ever go out in public at a time.
Noomi Repace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) plays all seven of the girls. It's an amazing acting job, one of the most unique performances I'm aware of.
The movie has some minor plot letdowns, is a bit formulaic in certain aspects, but still unique for what it is, and pretty well done.
It's on Netflix.
