That's taking it to a whole new level...
Saying the only thing you can do with an imported pistol with a brace is destroy it or turn it in because 922(r) is a much bigger deal than getting rid of a $200 brace.
Still, it seems like they could probably only go after these if the only configuration imported was a braced version though.
For example I know some CZ Evos came with a brace, but mine didn't. I may or may not have added that aftermarket. As far as any paperwork goes it was simply imported and sold as a pistol.
Even if this stupid rule stands, that doesn't change anything in this example because 922(r) only applies to long guns from what I understand.
