Transmission Cooler

Does a transmission cooler need to be replaced when a new transmission is install in the vehicle. If so what is the normal cost?

Vehicle is a truck - had a cooler in it when new. Vehicle has never been used to tow.

Some places won't warranty it if you don't replace the cooler. The cooler can be loaded with scraps from the old trans.
I would replace to be safe. They are pretty cheap if it is an aftermarket unit. Advance or Autozone has them or Summit Racing
is pretty cheap also.

Getting a new transmission replaced at a dealership (warranty work). Called today said same would not replace transmission without replacing the cooler. They want 400.00 to replace.
