Traders not being able to message me

I was just told by a fellow ODT member that he was not able to message me about two guns I had for trade, He was able to respond when I messaged him, but he had tried to message me first but could not, and I did notice I normally get PM's immediately when I list something, but I only got messages if I responded to them first. Please advise, thank you!

When I click your name, the "send private message" link isn't there. Is it disabled in your settings?

You could also unlock your threads so members can contact you in your ad
