Checked - no luck, it's only letting me attach pics.

I don’t think you can because they only allow certain file extensions.

You can upload to Google drive or Google Docs and share the link from there.

You can copy the link or send to other Google users.

Take a picture of the document and send it as a picture

Open the word doc. Hightlight all the text, rightclick, copy. Open a PM and right click paste. You might loose the formating, but it will capture all the text.
