Tick-borne illness sucks! I got it about 5 years ago. My specialist said it was Lyme Disease, from a Carroll County tick at that. Incubation period is around 2-weeks and the first symptom is usually calf cramps. Joint damage is possible if not treated in time (mine are shot)
I’m allergic to Doxycycline, one of the antibiotics prescribed for it. I had to discontinue the Doxy, got a new prescription and was allergic to it too. Needelsss to say, my experience with it was horrible.
When I go to my lease now, I put Permethrin on clothing, skin covered from head to toe in unscented Skin So Soft and a change of clothing for when I exit the woods.

You see, THIS is what I'm talking about. I'm on Doxy right now and I NEVER take anything.

Ticks and chiggers suck but I worry about getting hit in the head by a falling limb or tree.... or getting called into work.

Always spray down. I was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever last summer. I had my left leg amputated in February due to blood clots that my doctors believe were caused by the disease. Its a rare instance that the disease causes clots but there is several documented cases that led to the extreme symptoms I had. So for yourself and family always spray down.

I assume so. I don't travel too much. I just got a prosthetic leg and am learning to walk again. I'm just ready to get back to work. Looks like I may be hunting with crutches this year.

Stumbled in to a large Guerilla Grow quite a few years back on the lease. Scary because those folks play for keeps. Called it in ASAP! My biggest fear now is wacked out commies harassing hunters or stumbling up on a meth lab.
