used one like this a good bit when i was a kid- my dad believed in us learning the basics lol

And it don't get more basic than that. I guess that got you in shape to use the sling blade every summer.

Used one for hours on end as a kid at our hunting property in Wisconsin. Big fun!

That makes sense - it would be easier to use with a longer handle. The balance would be restored.

It's called a scythe. Just like what the Grim Reaper carries.

This is it. My Dad has my grandfather's. It's used to harvest wheat. I know these go way back in time. At least 1800s. I know I've used it some, I'm sure my Dad used it growing up on the farm. It's a good workout
