Hey everyone, it seems one of my chokes in my Mossberg O/U has become seized. Is there a gunsmith around the covington area that can get my choke out for me? I have tried a heat gun with no luck. I’ve got some kroil I’m going to soak it in but I’m not very optimistic. Any help is appreciated! I can travel further than covington if needed, just want somebody who knows what they’re doing. Thanks!

Use an impact driver to remove it. There is a socket that is used for driving wing nuts. It will work when nothing else does. I use an 18volt battery Dewalt impact driver, 1/4 inch drive.

if kroil doesnt do it, shoot a box of rounds through it. Folks dont realize the heat created can help loosen up locked up chokes.

I saw one so bad once a gunsmith had to weld a rod to the inside of the choke for leverage, got it out though.

Will report back what happens. I used to shoot the crap out of my gun and clean it everytime but it’s sat for probably a year or 2 and now I’m getting back into shooting so no telling why it’s seized. Probably let it soak in kroil for 2 days or so.
