What do you prefer for a (big) covered porch? Solid Stain or a deckover type paint ?
Pros and cons

I've got a big project ahead of me and I'm trying to find the best protection and less maintenance out there

Pressure treated wood - solid deck stain.

Bare untreated pine - primer and paint.

its all pressure treated. you have any recommendation on the best solid stain to use? I was told Sherwin Williams super deck was really good

I would not use solid stain on walking surfaces. Semi transparent works better.

just curious but why is this?
im assuming you can get a semi transparent with any color you want?

Stain for sure but if you want it to have color just get the colored stain. I painted my wooden fence white with some and never had to restain it in 9yrs. Just an occasional bleach/water mix to kill any mildew.

Stain,,,,paint will eventually crack and peel.
