Very few 4473s are actually seen by a government agency. Unless the ATF is looking for a particular firearm in a trace they have no reason to search them. They will audit 4473s, but that is to make sure the record keeping requirements are met, and that information never leaves the gun stope where they reside.
At some point you will see a push for a registration database though. Once they have a national 'universal' background check law in place so that all transfers are recorded, you can be sure that national registration will be next.
Indeed, to believe that the ATF, FBI and whoever else deep state, leftist arm of this government aren't compiling gun registries against Federal Statute is complete folly. Even quickly after the F&F 1, ATF agents were out trying to "audit" 4473s...copying every one of them in a gun store they could - until owners who knew better threw them out. "Auditing" is just code word for data entry - on a massive scale... These people are not your compatriots; they are your enemies..They have been known to photograph hundreds of 4473s at a time using smart phones. Why do you think they changed the 4473s to put all the important info on the front page.
Make no mistake, legal or not they will have their database!
