Well it looks like I'm going to try to get my first bike this spring/summer. My buddy is a somewhat "higher up" at Yamaha, and they get excellent employee pricing. He has to "own" it for one year though, and then the title can be in my name. Yamaha FZ6R FTW!

You are pretty close, the the FXR and Road King shared a simular frame and rubber mounts and the front end came off a 93 Heritage. I built the bike from a total basket case. I started with the frame and engine and bought and pieced together everything else. Took about 2 years but I am still cruising around on it.
