The cell phone thing is easy to prove or disprove. If any of those phones have been turned on and linked up with a tower at any point the carriers would be able to see when and where.


My guess, and this is just a guess but I would imagine a 777 coming apart at 35000 feet while traveling at 500+ miles per hour over water is going make it next to impossible to find any of the millions of tiny pieces that would be remaining.

Every technological aspect of this morbid disaster is "easily explained" until the powerful forces of politics are allowed into the arena.
