I quit 18 years ago when Marlboro Lights hit $8.55/pack of 20 in Chicago (where I lived at the time).

U ever do the math, on how much u saved by not smoking?
I've smoked since i was 18 and i'm down to 2 a day now. Those last 2 are a bitch...
Find a strong moment, and just quit, don’t ever have just 1 after u do quit
I only smoke when i'm at work so the most effective solution is to quit working.
I saw a facebook memory yesterday of where I started taking chantix 14 years ago. I quit smoking 06-09-2009 and there are days I regret it but when I see $8 a pack I’m thankful
I started smoking right out of boot camp, as many of my shipmates smoked and I guess I was just trying to fit in.
I quit about 8 year's later cold turkey. I had tried to quit earlier, but found that whenever I drank, I had to have a cigarette as well. So, quitting smoking also meant I quit drinking. I was able to later drink without the feeling or need to smoke, but I rarely ever find the craving to drink, so I guess I'm better off all around.
My fridge has numerous bottles of various alcohols sitting on top of it that only ever get cracked open when family and friends come over, which is a rarity of its own. Last I remember paying for a pack of Marlboro reds was around $4.50 a pack...tells ya how long ago that was.
