Someone please explain to me my obsession with these little smiths. I don't shoot them as well as semi autos, limited capacity, short sight radius. But I'll still drop one in my pocket on an evening trip to the store. For most of the old smiths, I have the numbered original grips. I put the rubber boot grips on for hand comfort. Has anyone used the Tyler T grips and what do you think of them. I would love to put the originals grips back on and use the Tyler T grips for that old time look. Can they still be found? Photo 1; pre 1957 Chiefs special, pre 1957 Centennial, Model 60-14 357. Photo 2: Mod 36,37,38. Photo 3; Mil and police lend lease to England, Ladysmith airlite 22 cal 8 shot, and pre model 10 mil and police. I think the answer to my question is, I'm old and watched too much Dragnet, Cannon and FiveO as a young man. ( for you young guys they were TV shows, when we only had 3 TV channels)

For T-grips, check places like eBay and Gunbroker. You’ll also see them on S&W and Colt revolver forums. I’ve got several, but they ain’t for sale!

My old 442 is my vacation gun. In my street cop days, I won money with that thing, shooting against guys with their duty G22’s at 25 yards.

You're not alone. I love the old snub Smiths, and the new ones as well. There is something extra cool about a snub revolver. Sometimes when I am home alone, I will dress up and play detective. Please don't tell anyone.

Same as you, I don't shoot them as well as my semis, but I can shoot them well enough at 20 feet, and feel comfortable carrying my 638 most places.

my J addiction is as yours, un-explainable... current roster, 442-2, 637-2, 60-1 Ashland Hardware and Supply, 617-3, 34, 49, 36-1 3", i'm trying to add a 940 and 640 pro. snubbies are an odd, but attractive option for carry/self defense. that being said, when i carry a snub, i carry 2. the old new york reload... the small revos are WAY more accurate than most give credit. i have spent a ton of trigger time on them for about 20 years now, and they are a trusted companion more often than any other gun type i own. yes they are slow to reload, generally kick like a mule, and not as easy to hide as a .380 or single stack G43/shield, but .38spl +p is a proven and predictable self defense caliber. S&W wouldn't still be making the venerable J frames almost 70 years later if there was no demand. and yes, they are kinda old school flat foot, gangsta cool...

Hmmm!, Guess I'm old too, sometimes I would go out a turn the antenna and Dad would get to watch Chattanooga wrestling.

I have the same problems....

But I’m not convinced it’s a problem.
