Good day everyone, hope all are staying safe. Got a quick question, very experienced with handguns but not on rifles, hence looking for sling suggestions for an AR.

First it has a Magpul handguard and the rear stock does have a hole for a QD. I tried another sling with a QD and it fits and locks fine.

The buffer tube nut plate does not have the inner ring to lock the QD, therefore my option may be to add one maybe??

Open to any suggestions and different options from the AR experts. Thank you all in advance.

Blueforce or slingster will serve you well.

Also having a steel QD cup is important as aluminum can fail over time.
Anti rotating cups are nice to keep the slings from twisting.

Like the man said above, add a QD point to the forearm, then run a Blue Force Gear Vickers 2-point from that point to the QD point in your receiver end plate.

Your castle nut (the part that is holding the receiver endplate in place) is not staked. I’m just up the road, you’re welcome to bring it by and I can stake it for you. Also, if for some reason the receiver endplate you have is not optimal, I have plenty of BCM ones with the QD socket. There’s also a pretty good chance that, since the castle nut isn’t staked, it isn’t assembled properly. I can correct all of that. All the labor is free.

I like an MS1 or a BFG Vickers padded 2 point slings. BFG is pretty much the gold standard of slings. I like to run the rear of the sling in the back of the end plate and in the rear of the handguard. I go back and forth with the rear and the front of the handguard but its all personal preference depending on what you have mounted up front.
