Simple delicious treat!

Buttered saltines

Heat oven to 400

Take 1 sleeve of saltines and place them flat side by side on a baking pan. Melt 6 tbsp of unsalted butter. Brush or drizzle butter on saltines. Bake on center rack for 8-10 minutes or until they start to brown.

That's it. Absolutely tasty on their own but top them with whatever you like.

Don't know anything about a country club but my mom made these when I was a kid. Ranked them right up there with a butter and sugar sandwich!

Love them buttered but I never have baked them. Gonna give it a try.

I’ve had em like that except they sprinkled em with spicy something or nother.. I would some brown sugar would be good.. but you recipe sounds just fine

I've sprinkled them with a little cinnamon. Enjoyed that. Since they are a bit salty they go good with peanut butter particularly if you put it on when they are still warm. The wife loves like that.

We put peanut butter on them after they cool and a big marshmallow and heat till marshmallow browns. Good eats! Mom fixed them for us when I was a kid . Growing up in late 50s and early 60s this was a real treat.
