Shipping ammo

I've recently discovered that shipping ammo is a pain in the a$$. Both UPS and FedEx gave me issues about shipping ammo in state. FedEx said I had to be a dealer. Christ, should I have just lied?

Use UPS Simple Rate only! It's a bit of a pain to use, at first, but it's so much cheaper than going to the counter. Watch your total package weights though.

When I ship anything like this, I don't put down what it really is or check that it is hazardous. Just like the Gov, they don't need to know what I'm doing.

Last time I shipped ammo in a USPS flat rate box. No questions, only a remark about the weight. I just smiled and said ‘’your rules’’.
