Most importantly - buy on a credit (not debit) card from a reputable financial firm so you can do a chargeback when you've been ripped off.

This right here is something EVERYONE should be aware of when buying things online. If your debit card gets stolen you're out your money until it gets fixed. Credit card? Ha, not your money getting stolen! Quick phone call will reverse those charges instantly. Only downside is waiting on a new card in the mail so make sure you have a back up credit card.

Plus, having credit cards increases your credit score (just make sure you can pay it off every month) and you can get points from purchases that can go towards gift cards or paying your bill. Card companies have apps that make all this really simple.

I am a 100% credit card user. Only use cash for tipping so they don't get taxed on it.
