I think it really is just an East vs West thing. Unless I did it wrong, the West was 11-4 in cross divisional play. And the 4 losses were Ark v UGA, AU v UGA, AU v USC and LSU v UK.
I'm not saying UGA can't beat Bama and I sure hope they get another chance at it, but I do think running the table in the East lulled them into a false sense of security. Hopefully it was a wake up call.
