Scenario... Cash is no good. You have no gold or silver, how do you barter?

Really anything that someone else wants or needs can become a commodity in such a scenario. Fuel, firewood, matches, food, clothing, etc.
Depends on the SHTF scenario. If your talking total chaos then I don't think your Gold & Silver will be worth what Weapons, Ammo, Lead, Brass, Powder, Primers, Food, Water and other essentials, will be. And ya better have plenty of Weapons and Ammo to Protect whats yours.

Cash is no good? Your gold and silver will mean nothing to me either. Swap you some food for silver? Why would I do that? I can eat food, your silver is just shiny metal.
Lead ingots will equal gold & silver
