Hello guys!

This is a pretty popular mod we do at our shop (www.ftdaniel.com), so I thought it would be of interest here...

Laying out the parts/pieces before getting started.

Getting positioned in the milling machine vise.

After milling. Needs a little more file work. The area where the ramp used to sit gets polished to a flat sheen.

Test fitting of front sight. Almost there!

All done and epoxied in place.

New and improved sight picture. Remember, it is also a night sight.

I like it... what is the cost?

It is $85.00 to install a customer supplied sight, or $135.00 to have us supply the sight and install it. This includes a $10.00 discount for being an ODT member.

I have one on my personal J frame, and I love it.

We are in Lawrenceville, and the turnaround time is about a week.

BTW, thanks for the reply!

That is awesome that you took the time to photograph an install at your facility and then share with the members here.!!.....Nothing sells better than good quality photograph's!!

Pretty cool! What is the heat resistance of the epoxy used?

I use JB Weld (as recommended by the manufacturer of the sight).

I am not sure of the exact temperature rating, but I can say that JB Weld has enough heat resistance that it can be machined (ie cut on the lathe and milling machine!) and not get soft.

My pistol has had this same sight on it for a long, long time now and it is still going strong. I have never had a customer send one back yet!
