I decided to go ahead and shoot the Ruger SR1911 this evening to get a base feel for it's accuracy. I shot a speed test and an accuracy test. Overall, I really like this pistol. If fed and ejected all shots well and didn't cause any problems.

The grip and feel are typical of a 1911. The trigger is average. I was holding center of the head and neck. The rear sight needs to be drifted a little to the right. I held to the right of the head on a few shots, which placed them more to the center.

Here are the results.

Ruger SR1911
230gr Remington
10 Yards/30 feet
Head = Accuracy, 1-2 seconds between sight pictures.
CM = More speed with .5+/- seconds between sight pictures.

Nice and clean before shooting.

the wait is very difficult for mine, AO will eventually get tired of me calling and showing up and give me mine. They keep telling me there not coming in ( hell of a waiting list)

I've heard nothing but good things about these 1911s, especially for their price range!
I believe it will replace the Springfield GI, Milspec, RIA, Remington, Taurus, Para GI and all other entry level 1911's. In my opinion, the SR1911 is equivalent to a mid range ($750) 1911.
