Pick up this rifle last year in a trade and love it.

My question is what can I do to increase its accuracy besides buying a 700 series.

If it has the original scope on it, I would start by replacing that with something decent. That way, when you buy a new rifle, you'll already have scope for it.

What he said. The 770 ain't really "upgradeable". Good optics my very well tightens things up. Another plus to a high end scope is that you increase your hunting hours. They're typically brighter, so you can keep going later in the evening after your buddies have tapped out cuz they can't see anything.
