Same here. Cronkite invented modern day opinion journalism. He didn’t report the news as much as he determine what was news and how it was presented to form public opinion. “The most trusted man in America”
 
Watergate. It was all over the news when I was young, but I didn't understand it.
I asked my dad what the heck they were talking about --it didn't seem to have anything to do with a dam or any other sort of gate to held water back.
Dad tried to explain to me the politics of it but I didn't really understand his explanation either. I don't think his explanation included mentioning that the name of the place where the Republican burglars committed the crime was the Watergate hotel and office building.
