Just a little advice from an IPC certified instructor, if you want reliable fine pitch soldering invest in a couple 10X microscopes with articulating arms, and the specific soldering tools for chip components. Those items will save you a world of trouble. When I give a class for fine pitch soldering, use of the microscope and proper tools is REQUIRED, as noone in the world has vision good enough to inspect fine pitch solder joints without a scope

doublebarrelkungfu doublebarrelkungfu Thank you for the suggestion - currently have magnifying lamps and loupes, if you have any specific model 10x microscopes you'd recommend feel free to PM a link to me. I see you're in Norcross, if you're passing through John's Creek area and want to stop by sometime just drop me a PM.

Depends on what you want to spend, microscopes.net has inexpensive ones that are decent for the money. Part number G321l8w with arm part number a90f4 will get the job done with minimal expense.
