Precisely the reason a good friend of mine (farmer) won’t shoot coyotes. He says “somethings got eat the deer!”

Too many, same with turkey. I have seen coyotes following deer about 5 minutes behind the deer

I think they get there share along with the bobcats.fawning cover along with the healthy does play a major part of fawn survival.

GA Hunters in the 90's: "Deer in GA have no natural predators, this is not healthy for the ecosystem, because of this us hunters are extremely important to the balance of nature. Without us as predators, deer would over populate, and the heard would be sickly and malnourished."

GA hunters today: "We have to kill all the coyotes, it's not good for deer to have a natural predator!"


^This is just a funny observation of mine. I have absolutely no problem with killing every coyote we see. I just think hunters can be a little over dramatic about the effect of coyotes on their precious deer herd.
