I flew into PR in 1996 and got stranded due to the bombing at Centennial Olympic Park. I got to tour Old PR and it was a beautiful place. I quite enjoyed the trip..

Why would anyone take offense to that? I travel to PR three or four times a year for work. I hate the place.

They already have all the free programs. The just don't pay federal tax. Since they don't report their income to the federal government, they all qualify for government assistance. Years ago, Puerto Rico was an export society. Now they are an import one. You know what their largest import is? Government assistance.

This is all correct. Sometime after WW2 the US came in and built factories to provide a means for the people to support and better themselves. By the time I was there in the early seventies all the factories were closed down and the people were on welfare. Despite all the talk of statehood then the country had active Communist and Socialist parties and many people hated the US.

Welfare has really destroyed that place. Nothing like going to home depot and seeing guys in towers with machine guns in the parking lot. Sadly, Puerto Rico is a good indicator of where we are headed here.

PR is beautiful, has great fishing, hot women, and outstanding food. Why would anyone take offense?
