Hey guys,
My dad is having open heart surgery this week following a heart sttack on Friday. He is in pretty good shape but had a clogged artery that resulted in a tear in the wall of his heart.

You reminded me to call and check on my dad too. A couple months ago he'd had a heart attack and barely made it it to the ER. They went in and cleaned him out, and last week they put in a auto defibrillator to jump start him if his heart quits again.

Modern cardiac surgery/technology is amazing.

Amazing technology? A truer statement has never been made.
I was able to watch my beating heart in color as I laid still, they could turn it around on the screen any way they wanted. I could feel the beat and watch it beat, at the same time and as my son would say, that's just plain awesome, lol.

Prayers for the OP's Dad and as other have already said, let your mind be at ease, they have this stuff figured out.
