Is the serial number on the receipt? Tell the seller if they don't fully refund, you're going to file a police report for selling counterfeit goods.

Small claims court brother. You’d have a realistic shot at winning and wouldn’t need to pay for an attorney. But the pawn shop as a corporation would have to retain an attorney which will cost them thousands to respond to your claim. They will either settle or incur lots of fees.
Might be state court where a Corp has to have an attorney. Check with clerk of your court and sue them where they need an attorney.
you dont need an attorney to file a small claims for under $1k.
The pawn shop likely has pictures of said item request those before court. I would show up to the shop again and request my money in person (video tape it).
