Plugging a lever gun?

Illnois is allowing single shot rifles next season and has a limited list of what caliburs woild be legal, Since I dont own any single shots I was wondering if I could plug My lever 44 mag and use it? any thoughts?

Question for them but I doubt it. I'd think it would have to be a permanent limitation. Lived there briefly and was stunned at the shotgun only requirement.

Possibly, but you need to look at exactly what the law says. Have you looked it up?

is here a way to remove the magazine part of the tube - make it incapable of holding ammo?

According to this it sounds like you can. But I'd get the green light from the warden covering that area first.

You should just be able to remove the cap from the magazine tube and put a dowel with a plastic plugs and shorter spring the length that you need.

I'm not sure why they'd make you use a shotgun only unless it's because it's so unsuited to home defense, they reckon it can't hurt people.
