I was there all of 1985. Itaewon was the place for GIs to hang out, get drunk, and get laid. I once saw 3 Marines flip a Kimchi cab because the driver wouldn’t take them back to Osan Air Base to fly back to Japan.

I heard Itaewon went downhill after the Olympics.

Most koreans make there own kimchi at home takes forever but definitely well worth it

Maybe slightly off-topic, but my favorite local Korean places are Incredbowl (for lunch) and K BBQ factory for a fancy dinner. I don’t think you’d be disappointed in either, both should be close to you.

I’ve also recently become a kimchi believer. We had a good recipe once before so I think we’ll start making it at home soon.
