New lighting for safe

I didn't look at the Amazon links, but the motion sensor looks like the one I used. I got velcro tape and attached the LED strip to that to attach it to the walls (LED strip has adhesive, but I don't think that'd work by itself). I had to buy a 12V wall wart, too, and I assume that you could use any 12V power supply (sealed lead-acid battery, e.g.) but just not sure how long you'll get in terms of run time. Super happy with the result.

Think this would work with a 12V battery pack? I don't have power close to my safe.
The included 110v. wall adapter is low voltage(probably 12v DC), you can run 2-conductor low voltage cable for a long distance without significant voltage drop(similar to camera/security, or outdoor lighting installations).

I think you'd be safer with a sealed lead-acid battery, like the kind used as backup in alarm panels. No concerns about it catching fire (which the pack in your link is probably protected against, but still, lithium...). You just need a trickle/car charger to periodically top it off. The only thing I'm not sure of is how sensitive the strip lights are to the voltage (which will drop off as the battery discharges).

You can get these (and end up with lots of extras) and add crimp-on terminals for the battery end to plug the lights into:

And here's a battery (there are less-expensive ones, but this was the brand that folks on one of the alarm system boards recommend):

For what it's worth, these are the lights I used:

I have used the rope lights a couple places in the house and like them, but I thought having a motion sensor switch and the whole thing for (I forget exactly) $10 or so more was worth a shot. No complaints so far.

I tried that a while back, but the ups has an alarm that goes off when there is no power running to it. Maybe the new ones have a way to cancel that off.
Edit: you may have to hire 007 to clip the wire to the alarm speaker.(he'll know which color wire to clip)

I needed some good bright lights in my safe and saw a video on YouTube. Off to amazon i went, $25 later and this is the end result! It’s actually brighter in person. I ordered a roll of LED light strip, motion/light sensor, and used thumb tacks to tack it up in the safe.

Thank you for this. Every light I've ever bought for my safe sucked. Going to give this a shot.
