First pig I shot charged me after I shot him. Tracked him 200 yards in to a thicket. He didn't appreciate the follow up shot in the other shoulder and charged me on 3 legs. I had to check my pants after that little incident.

As for the hearing protection, part of the whole hunting thing is sitting in the quiet and enjoying nature. I wear them religiously for targets and clays, but hunting is with open ears.
