Unusual WW2 flick.
Plot: An SS detachment is chasing a Wermacht deserter through the Rhineland in April, 1945. He's not their real mission. Just a temporary distraction. What they are really after is a box of gold bars, stolen from Jews and hidden away in a nearby, small vilage.
Things get complicated from there.
The movie has a bit of a Tarantino feel to it. It's deliberately gritty and violent, with some over-the-top stereotyping, but very well done.
It's in German, with English subtitles. Attention to detail, like uniforms, weapons, and gear, is a cut above average.
Recommended.
