So I picked up a model 10-8 the other day Heavybarrel
it had alot of the blue gone and some rust so I removed all the blue and found some pitting. I was goin to reblue but now since its pitted I'm thinking about dura coating it. Is this a bad idea?

It would be for me. Collector value already gone. To each his own, but I would rather see it restored to its original beauty as much as possible.

B.Byrd, as he usually does, makes a great point. No collector value, but still a great piece that can handle +P rounds. There are other options. How about a hard chromed finish or a parkerized finish? Both hold up just fine.

I say if your going to keep it and have no intentions of selling it do what you want. I thought about cerakoting a revolver in there green color with a black cylinder to match the hogue grip on it.
