Need a little help with a used Jeep Cherokee

Thanks guys, for all the help and advice. The link to the other site really helped. They showed the shifter set up I have in a picture and it made it possible for me to identify the model I have. I guess normal running mode is 4 Hi then most of the time unless I need that extra traction. I have a feeling mileage is not going to be very good on this vehicle, but we'll see.

I've owned a quadradrive Wj and a standard 4x4 (part time) Wj. I didn't notice any difference in mileage (both were 4.7 v8). The quadradrive is an awesome asset when things get slippery though.
