The ATF guy said they are expecting 4 to 8 months wait times currently. Is this realistic or dare I get my hopes up for a 3 month turnaround time?

No thats their catch all time frame. Unless a lot of people starting filing around the same time you did you're looking at 3.5-4 months. Some members are running a little longer than that I think.

Sounds good, I've never really understood the SBR thing. I get the idea behind it, just haven't caught that particular bug (Thank God).
Have no worries. They said 6 months to me on the phone which was over 3more moths from that day.....mine was approved the next day.

big appeal for me on SBR is that you can add a can and then your total length is close to the same as a standard rifle.....and cause they look damn good
